LIZ PICHON

Liz Pichon is an English author and illustrator of children's books: 

• Background

• Pichon was born in London and studied graphic design at Middlesex Polytechnic and Camberwell School of Art. She worked as a designer and art director for Jive Records before becoming an independent artist. 

• Known for

• Pichon is best known for her Tom Gates series, which has been translated into over 40 languages. The books have won several awards, including the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, and the Blue Peter Book Award. 

• Other work

• Pichon has also written and illustrated other picture books, including My Big Brother Boris, which won a Smarties Book Prize Silver Award. 

• Style

• Pichon writes and draws every page by hand, then scans it to clean it up and adjust the spacing. She incorporates creativity into her work, such as music, interactive extras, and paper bangers.
